Visual artist and botanical illustrator, Violeta Gibelli’s work emerges from an observation of the natural world in which scientific precision converges with poetic sensibility. Born in the United States to Argentine parents and raised in Paris, her multicultural background ignited a drive to broaden horizons and connect worlds.

Her visual universe unfolds in scientific illustrations and works dedicated to sharing the biodiversity of the South American sub-Antarctic flora; a contemporary reinterpretation of Argentine folk tradition; and works that explore the links between personal memory, culture, and spirituality.

These branches reveal a common root: the quest to understand, honor, and engage in dialogue with nature on all scales, from microscopic structure to the deep memory of a landscape.

She has exhibited her work in Spain, Italy, France, Argentina and Chile. She currently collaborates with scientists and researchers to delve into the connections between science and art for biocultural conservation.
